How to pick the right labels
- Match the printer — label size must fit the printer’s media width and drive mechanism; always check compatibility with your DYMO, Zebra, Brady, Wasp or Capture label printer model.
- Direct thermal or thermal transfer — direct thermal (DT) is paper + heat only; thermal transfer (TT) uses a ribbon and lasts longer in sunlight and heat. Pick DT for short-life labels (receipts, shipping); TT for asset tags and barcodes that need to last.
- Material — paper is cheapest; polyester (Z-Ultimate) and polypropylene (DYMO LW PP) resist tearing, chemicals and moisture; vinyl (Brady) handles outdoor use and curved surfaces.
- Adhesive — permanent acrylic is the default; look for removable adhesives if you need to peel labels back off.
- Pack sizes — single rolls for small-run jobs; multi-roll boxes (12 x 25,200 up to 12 x 33,360 Capture labels) for high-volume production.
