How to size the right UPS

Total load (Watts) — add up the power draw of the kit you want to protect; aim for a UPS with a Watt rating 25% above the total.
Runtime target — how long do you need the UPS to carry the load after a mains cut? 5 minutes for a graceful shutdown; 30+ minutes to bridge until a generator spins up.
Line-interactive, online or offline — line-interactive is standard for office; double-conversion online (PowerWalker VFI, Eaton 9PX / 9SX, Liebert GXT5) is for mission-critical loads and dirty mains.
Tower vs rack-mount — rack UPS slots into standard server racks (1U, 2U); tower units sit on the floor or desk.
Remote management — SNMP / network cards (e.g. PowerWalker VFI 1500 ICT IoT with Ethernet) let you monitor and shut down loads remotely.
